Deconstructing Motion Design

Motion design is ubiquitous within the contemporary communication landscape. Animations and videos are found in almost every digital interface. However, with the speed at which media and technology continue to evolve, contemporary motion design requires skills that many visual communicators don’t have. Through unpacking the history, formal components and potential future of motion graphics, ‘Deconstructing Motion Design’ argues that a basic, universal understanding of the medium can make us better designers in all aspects of our practice.
