Beyond the Label
by Anna Pham‘Beyond the Label’ provides an alternative perspective to food packaging, by highlighting the issues associated with its production. It explores our understanding of food production and how that might impact our understanding of ethics and sustainability. This project uses comics to narrate stories about cocoa farming and chocolate production in an empathetic way. It aims to draw awareness to issues such as child labour, deforestation and unfair trade, which are often invisible to us as consumers. The comic-form packaging designs provoke viewers to speculate the future ‘what if?’ when these issues are ignored.
